Tenure & Promotion

Achieving tenure and promotion is an indicator of great professional success and contributions. Getting tenure and promotion, however, is a long journey that needs collective efforts and support from untenured faculty members, faculty peers, departments, and the University. Our half-day Annual Tenure and Promotion Workshop is designed to give untenured faculty an overview of the tenure and promotion process as well as strategies to advance the journey toward tenure and promotion (T&P). Specifically, the workshop will provide you an opportunity to:

  • become acquainted with the dossier preparation requirements at OU;
  • review, build, and strengthen your promotion portfolio to ensure success;
  • interact with campus T&P review leaders and discipline-specific senior faculty members.

We will also provide training and networking opportunities for newly appointed chairs and directors to provide ongoing mentorship to untenured faculty and get familiarized with the process of working with Committee A, Campus T&P Committee, and the Provost’s Office.
